Submit your contributions from different academic disciplines for the workshop “Political economy of agricultural policies and land relations” in Halle (Saale), Germany, until 17 November 2019.

Several IAMO researchers participated the “Third International Conference on Natural Resource Management and Public Policy” in Wuhan, China, from 18 to 21 October 2019. The conference was jointly organized by Huazhong Agricultural University (HZAU) and IAMO.

As part of the FEM POWER project, the conference held in Magdeburg, Germany, on 23 October 2019 drew up an interim balance on the state of equal opportunities in science and research in Saxony-Anhalt. At the event, IAMO also presented its already achieved goals and future prospects.

Barry Goodwin, William Neal Reynolds Distinguished Professor and Graduate Alumni Distinguished Professor at the Departments of Agricultural and Resource Economics and Economics, North Carolina State University, USA, gave a guest lecture at IAMO on 22 October 2019.

The workshop “Agricultural Innovations, Rural Development and Globalization Processes in Central Asia” will take place at IAMO in Halle (Saale), Germany, on 17 February 2020. Interested applicants are invited to submit a structured abstract by 15 December 2019.

The new website of the digital “Länder-Analysen” (country analyses) on Belarus, Poland, Russia, Ukraine and Central Asia now offers extended research possibilities. Together with five other scientific institutions, IAMO is co-editor of the publication.

On 25 September 2019, a delegation from the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs (MARA), China, led by Mr. Jinyao Zong, the director of Department of Laws and Regulations, visited the IAMO.

During summer 2019, researchers of the SUSADICA doctoral programme conducted visits to various exemplary field sites in Central Asia to collect insights on complexities of farmers’ production and resource management decisions.
