EAAE pre-congress symposium “Large Scale Agriculture in Transition and Developed Economies: Organizational and Societal Issues”

As part of the 16th Congress of the European Association of Agricultural Economists (EAAE), a virtual pre-congress symposium entitled “Large Scale Agriculture in Transition and Developed Economies: Organizational and Societal Issues” was held on 19 July 2021.

The symposium involved discussions around up-to-date results of the project “International Competence Center on Large Scale Agriculture” (LaScalA). The event was attended by over 50 participants representing academia, business, and policy and covered the topics of the growth and performance of agroholdings, as well as of institutional frameworks for and societal impacts of the development of large-scale farms. The agenda included two sessions with research papers from Czech Republic, Germany, Kazakhstan, Romania, Russia, and Ukraine, and an open discussion.

About the International Competence Center on Large Scale Agriculture (LaScalA)

The International Competence Center "Large Scale Agriculture in Developed and Transition Economies" (LaScalA) is an international network of scientists and young researchers. The project enables the systemization of theoretical/empirical research and acts as a forum for exchange of relevant research ideas and results in the sphere of large scale farming. The project is funded by the Leibniz Association and implemented by IAMO in cooperation with 14 international research partners. Further information here.
