The German-Uzbek Chair of Central Asian Agricultural Economics (GUCAE) at the Tashkent International Agrarian University (IAU) was established in 2018 by IAMO in cooperation with Uzbek partners and with the support of the Volkswagen Foundation. It is led by Dr. Ihtiyor Bobojonov, senior researcher at IAMO. The chair deals with questions of socio-economic developments in the agrarian regions of Central Asia. In addition to the head Ihtiyor Bobojonov, four other postdocs and two PhD students are currently working at the chair with the aim of ensuring research and teaching at a high international level. As a result of the successful development over the past years, further funds have now been made available for the long-term development of the chair. We congratulate our colleagues and wish them continued success!
