Setenay Kizilkaya joined IAMO in March 2024 as a doctoral researcher in the Department of Agricultural Policy. She completed her Bachelor’s degree in International Relations at Middle East Technical University of Ankara, Turkey and continued her studies in German-Turkish Master’s Program in Social Sciences at Humboldt University of Berlin. She wrote her Master’s thesis on Gendered Perceptions of Climate Vulnerabilities in Mindanao, the Philippines cooperating with CGIAR and ZALF. From June 2022 to October 2023, she worked as a student assistant in the Fellow Programme at Research Institute for Sustainability, Helmholtz Centre- Potsdam. For her PhD, she focuses on the climate risk perceptions of small-scale farmers and their migration decisions under climatic threats in the context of Central Asia.
