4th Sino-German Agricultural Week

As a platform for promoting policy, scientific and business dialogue between China and Germany, the 4th Sino-German Agricultural Week entitled “Science & Technology Leading Green Development” will be held from 26 to 28 November 2018 in Beijing, China.

The 4th Sino-German Agricultural Week will sponsored by the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs (MARA), P.R. China, and the Federal Ministry of Food and Agriculture (BMEL), Germany. The event will organized by the GFA Consulting Group, IAK Agrar Consulting, Leibniz Institute of Agricultural Development in Transition Economies (IAMO), Foreign Economic Cooperation Center (FECC) and the Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences (CAAS).

Also part of the Agricultural Week with separate agendas are the “Official Opening Ceremony, Phase 2 DCALDP from 2018 to 2021” in Huanghai Demonstration Park (24 November), organized by the Sino-German Crop Production and Agrotechnology Demonstration Park (DCALDP) in Huanghai and the “Sino-German Cattle Symposium” organized by the Sino-German Cooperation Project on Animal Breeding and Husbandry in Harbin (30 November – 1 December). The mission of the events is to promote the development of green agriculture in the two countries via policy, scientific and agri-business dialogues and by mutually sharing best experiences.

SinoGerman Agricultural Centre (DCZ)

As an important initiative of Sino-German bilateral cooperation, with an agreement signed by the Chinese Premier Li Keqiang and the German Federal Counsellor Angela Merkel, the SinoGerman Agricultural Centre (DCZ) was launched in Beijing in March 2015. In April 2018 the DCZ entered its 2nd Phase. The objective of the DCZ is to promote the cooperation between China and Germany in the agriculture and food sector and to support China’s sustainable agriculture development as well as dialogues on agricultural related issues commonly concerned by the two countries.  The DCZ 2nd phase consists of four components: (1) Agricultural Policy Dialogue; (2) Agri -and Food Business Dialogue; (3) Agricultural Scientific and Technological Dialogue; and (4) Public Relations and Networking. China’s Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs (MARA) and the German Federal Ministry of Food and Agriculture (BMEL) are the executing partners. The Foreign Economic Cooperation Center (FECC), the Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences (CAAS), IAK Agrar Consulting GmbH and Leibniz Institute of Agricultural Development in Transition Economies (IAMO) are the implementing partners.
