Pre-Conference-Workshop auf der 29. International Conference of Agricultural Economists (ICAE)
08. August 2015 - Das IAMO ist einer der Organisatoren eines Pre-Conference-Workshops mit dem Titel „Agro-holdings and other types of mega-farming operations in developed and emerging economies“ im Rahmen der 29. ICAE in Mailand, Italien.
In den letzten beiden Jahrzehnten hat die Anzahl großer Landwirtschaftsbetriebe weltweit zugenommen. Diese Agrobetriebe sind Megafarmen oder Agroholdings mit horizontal oder vertikal integrierten Unternehmungen und haben eine Betriebsgrößen von bis zu 500.000 Hektare oder mehr. Sie sind nicht nur im Bereich des Ackerbaus, sondern auch in der Tierhaltung zu finden.
Obwohl einige Daten über solche Agroholdings und andere Formen von landwirtschaftlichen Großbetrieben zur Verfügung stehen, fehlt eine systematische Analyse über ihre Verbreitung, ihre wirtschaftliche Leistungsfähigkeit sowie ihre sozialen und ökologischen Auswirkungen aus internationaler Sicht. Das Ziel des Workshops ist, die Experten, die an Themen über Agroholdings in den verschiedenen Teilen der Welt arbeiten, zusammenzubringen und den Austausch über die treibenden Kräfte der Verbreitung dieser Agroholdings, ihrer Unternehmungen und ihre Einflussmöglichkeiten zu ermöglichen.
