FEM-Power – Promotion of gender equality for female scientists at IAMO

The five year program aims to increase the number of women in research. Equal employment is to be achieved across all levels of qualification (PhD students, post-docs, professors). Funds from the European Social Fund (ESF) and the Land of Saxony-Anhalt were used to create the position of equality and diversity coordinator. A preliminary evaluation will look at the current situation in IAMO. The results will then be used to develop appropriate measures for increasing the number of women employed in the institute, according to a cascade model. Human resource measures will furthermore be developed towards the creation of networks and the coordination of equality and gender policies.
