The ScienceCampus Halle - plant-based bioeconomy (WCH) has been awarded the Hugo Junkers Award for Research and Innovation from Saxony-Anhalt 2015. In the Ständehaus Merseburg handed Hartmut Möllring, Minister of Sciences and Economic Affairs of the federal German state Saxony-Anhalt, on 15 December the award for the 3rd place in the category "Most Innovative Alliance". The prize is endowed with 3,000 Euros. In addition, the research group of WCH by Dr. Nico Dissmeyer at the Leibniz Institute of Plant Biochemistry (IPB) also received an award. They were honoured with the 3rd place in this year's special category "Chemistry and bio-economy" and won 2,000 Euros in prize money.
