Review: German-Ukrainian Summer School IV in Agricultural Economics

From 14 to 25 September the 4th German-Ukrainian Summer School for Agricultural Economics took place with the online course "Time Series Analysis in Agricultural and Food Markets".

The Summer School in Agricultural Economics IV continued the work of previous Summer Schools for PhD students in an online format. The summer school consisted of 12 sessions held by Prof. Bernhard Brümmer (University of Göttingen, Germany) and Prof. Jens-Peter Loy (Christian-Albrechts-University of Kiel, Germany) on the topic "Applied Time Series Analysis in Agricultural and Food Markets” and two invited lectures of Dr. Sören Prehn, PD. Dr. habil. Linde Götz, Dr. Tinoush Jaghdani (all IAMO, Germany) and Prof. Hernan Tejada. Participants from the Ukrainian Universities in Kyiv (Kyiv National University of Trade and Economics, Kyiv School of Economics, National University of Life and Environmental Science of Ukraine, Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv), Dnipro (Dnipro State Agrarian and Economic University), Poltava (Poltava State Agrarian Academy), Vinnytsia (Vinnytsia Institute of Trade and Economics of KNUTE), Sumy (Sumy National Agrarian University), Lviv (Ukrainian Catholic University), Melitopol (Tavria State Agrotechnological University), the Slovakian Agricultural University in Nitra and the German Martin-Luther-University Halle-Wittenberg came together on the webinar platform to take part in the online lectures and practical courses. Ukrainian participants of the Summer School took part in five group work sessions where PhD students of UaFoodTrade presented their research papers. On 23.-25. September 2020 Ukrainian PhD students individually took part in the annual GEWISOLA Conference 2020.

The online German-Ukrainian Summer School was organized by Leibniz Institute of Agricultural Development in Transition Economies (IAMO), Halle, Germany and Kyiv School of Economics (KSE), Kyiv, Ukraine in cooperation with the Department of Agricultural Economics and Rural Development of the Georg August University of Göttingen, Germany and the Department of Agricultural Economics of the Christian-Albrecht University of Kiel, Germany in frames of the UaFoodTrade Pilot Project. The course was funded by the German Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF).
