Together with Udo Sträter, Rector of the Martin Luther University Halle-Wittenberg (MLU) and the WCH speakers - among them IAMO Director Alfons Balmann, Kleiner discussed the cooperation between the non-university and university institutions under the umbrella of the WCH. Furthermore, Kleiner met with young scientists and with Jean-François Soussana, Vice President of the French Institute of Agricultural Sciences (INRA). "With the interdisciplinary ScienceCampus Halle, the Leibniz Association and the Martin Luther University have succeeded in internationally raising the regions profile in this future-oriented area," said Kleiner.
The Leibniz ScienceCampus Halle - Plant-Based Bioeconomy (WCH) with its eleven members is the largest of the 19 Leibniz Science Campi in Germany. Their focus is on plant-based agricultural science, biology, biochemistry and biotechnology, including the environmental, social and economic sciences.
