New Administrative Director at IAMO

Katja Guhr is now a member of IAMO's board of directors and commissioner for IAMO's budget. Together with the three scientific directors, she is responsible for management as well as further strategic and operational management of the institute.

Katja Guhr's other functions include overall responsibility for the Administration and Central Services/Technical Support department. This includes the areas of personnel administration, financial accounting, third-party fund processing, controlling, documentation and statistics, procurement, IT, library, building services and the guest area. Furthermore, she is responsible, among other things, for dealing with basic issues, legal matters, financial control, construction and real estate matters as well as the strategic development of the administration.

From June 2017 to August 2019, Katja Guhr worked as the assistant to the Administrative Director of IAMO. She was previously the assistant to the president and research associate at the Halle Institute for Economic Research (IWH), Germany. Katja Guhr served an apprenticeship as a bank clerk and has a degree (German diploma) in Economics from the Martin Luther University Halle-Wittenberg, Germany. During her studies she worked in various finance departments of BMW AG in Leipzig, Germany, and Oxford, UK.
