IAMO had already received the certificate for the audit berufundfamilie on 10 December 2020. Now the award ceremony took place in a festive atmosphere and with the participation of the Federal Minister for Family Affairs Christine Lambrecht as an online stream.
The auditing process at IAMO was carried out between March and October 2020. It measures the status quo of the family- and life phase-conscious activities already offered, systematically develops the institute's individual potential and ensures that family awareness is anchored in the corporate culture by means of binding agreements on objectives. After the successful completion of this process, an independent board of trustees decides on the award of the certificate. The practical implementation is reviewed annually by berufundfamilie Service GmbH.
Measures already implemented at IAMO to balance work, family and private life include the opportunity to work from home, trust-based working hours for scientific staff, as well as external and internal mentoring for (junior) executives in some departments. The next steps will focus on equal opportunities in personnel development strategies, optimizing deputy arrangements in the administrative area, strengthening interdepartmental communication, and addressing family and work-life-conscious personnel policies in various formats for executives.
