In his opening speech, Rector Urutyan emphasized the importance of research and qualification of young scientists and was pleased to establish an institutional basis for the cooperation with IAMO, which had already begun many years ago. It is now possible to cooperate even better on many issues and to further develop the opportunities provided by the renewed agricultural university.
In his welcome address, Deputy Minister of Economy Arman Khojoyan stated that the solutions to the many challenges currently facing the agricultural sector lie in precision agriculture, modern education, and continuous research. In this regard, he acknowledged the leading role of the Agricultural University.
In a presentation, Rector Urutyan introduced the Armenian National Agricultural University to the visitors and explained the process of transforming the university into a center of excellence in agricultural education. He also presented solution approaches that the university applies at the educational and research levels in view of global and national challenges and expected future developments.
The signing of the memorandum was also attended by the President of the Parliament of Saxony-Anhalt Dr. Gunnar Schellenberger, the Honorary Consul of the Republic of Armenia in Saxony-Anhalt Prof. Dr. Lucas F. Flöther and some German business representatives.
The meeting and signing of the memorandum took place with the support of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Armenia and the Armenian Embassy in Germany within the framework of the business visit of the delegation of the Land of Saxony-Anhalt to Armenia.
