Annual meeting of the working group Libraries of the Leibniz Institutes in Saxony-Anhalt

This year, IAMO hosted the annual meeting of the working group Libraries of the Leibniz Institutes in Saxony-Anhalt on 26 September. The five institutions include the Leibniz Institute for Plant Biochemistry (IPB), Leibniz Institute of Plant Genetics and Crop Plant Research (IPK), Halle Institute for Economic Research (IWH), Leibniz Institute for Neurobiology (LIN) and Leibniz Institute for Agricultural Development in Transformation Economies (IAMO).

The library directors of the five Leibniz Institutes in Saxony-Anhalt meet regularly in order to promote the exchange of experience and to strengthen cooperation between the libraries of the institutes. Among the topics discussed at the meeting were open access, predatory journals, research information systems and the effects of legal changes on libraries with regard to the Basic Data Protection Ordinance (GDPR) and the Copyright Knowledge Society Act (UrhWissG). In addition to the professional exchange, the event included a guided tour of the IAMO building and the library as well as a joint lunch on the Peißnitzinsel in Halle (Saale), Germany.
