On 1 January 2023, the project "FOODScopeVR" was launched. With the help of the new IAMO XR Lab, young scientists will investigate consumer behaviour in Serbia and seek to identify determinants, such as trust, transparency and traceability, along food value chains.

Personalia

+++ IAMO director Thomas Glauben was awarded an honorary doctorate by Nordic International University in Tashkent, Uzbekistan, on 6 January 2023, for his outstanding contribution to the development of research and teaching. We congratulate him on this award. +++ On 4 January 2023 Daniel Müller was honoured by the Humboldt University of Berlin with an extraordinary professorship for outstanding achievements in research and teaching. Congratulations! +++ On 19 December 2022 IAMO researcher Michel Kabirigi successfully defended his dissertation. The thesis was titled: "The diffusion and adoption of crop disease management practices among banana farmers in Rwanda: The importance of proximity dimensions“. We congratulate him on his achievement. +++ Antje Jantsch is a visiting scholar at the Faculty of Political Science at Simon Fraser University (SFU) in Canada from 8 March to 5 April. Together with Professor Steven Weldon, she is investigating the attitudes of young people in rural areas towards politics and whether they plan to live in the countryside in the future.+++ At IAMO we welcome Anna Feshchenko back to the team after parental leave and are pleased to introduce two new staff members: Daniela Ana researches in the RuWell project in the Agricultural Policy Department since January and Desjana Grymshi has been a PhD student in the Agricultural Policy Department since March. We wish them much success for their activities and PhD projects at IAMO! +++
