The work group aims to individually and collectively address the introduced areas of action (organization management, research, personnel, buildings & infrastructure, and supportive processes) as presented in the guidelines for sustainability (LeNa). Based on IAMO-specific priorities, these guidelines are used to identify areas of need and systematically integrate appropriate measures into the Institute's workflow. The work group brings together researchers from all departments as well as members of staff and the administration. This year four events in the areas of research and management, and personnel and building management are scheduled. The first one will be a workshop on transdisciplinary work, to begin this April.
Sustainability: A new work group at IAMO
The publication of the handbook "Sustainability Management in Research Organizations" in autumn 2016 has set the foundation for research institutes to include topics of sustainability in areas of organization and management as well as their usual research fields. As such, IAMO founded the work group "Sustainability" in December 2016.
