The three day meeting was opened by the project coordinator, Miranda Meuwissen, and followed by critical reflection from the scientific advisory committee members Ika Darnhofer, Katharina Helming, and Ada Wossink. The meeting then proceeded with partners presenting their findings, input from participants, research training sessions, and refining of the next steps of data collection and analysis. Not all the time was spent locked up in conference rooms, though. IAMO organized a visit to the Agrargenossenschaft Weissenschirmbach to allow European farmers the chance to experience a typical farm of eastern Germany. This was followed by a local dinner with much insight on regional farming issues. The event was supported by EU Horizon 2020.
As part of the project “Towards sustainable and resilient EU farming systems” (SURE-Farm), the 3rd SURE-Farm Meeting was held at IAMO in Halle (Saale), Germany, from 18 to 19 September 2018.
