Sino-German Agribusiness Conference 2021

The Sino-German Agribusiness Conference entitled “Approaches to Sustainable and Modern Agriculture” will be held from 2 to 3 June 2021 in Nanjing, China. The conference will be organized as a hybrid event with physical attendance and online participation.

The event serves as a platform to facilitate exchange of experiences and lessons on topics addressed by the Sino-German Agricultural Centre (DCZ) between German and Chinese companies and business associations as well as with political decision-makers and researchers. Participants representing MARA and BMEL, Chinese and German agricultural and food industry, academic and research institutions are expected to attend the conference. There will be keynote speeches by high-level representatives and presentations on practical solutions and approaches to modern and sustainable agriculture including animal husbandry, seeds and crops. In addition, panel discussions and a site visit are planned.

IAMO researcher Yanjun Ren will give a presentation on “Overview on Food Loss and Waste: A Sustainable Approach” and participate in the panel discussion “Modernisation of Crop Farming” on 3 June 2021.

About the Sino-German Agricultural Centre (DCZ)

The Sino-German Agricultural Centre is a joint initiative of the German Federal Ministry of Food and Agriculture (BMEL) and the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs of the People’s Republic of China (MARA). The DCZ was established in March 2015 as a central contact and information office and for the purpose of coordinating the bilateral cooperation between Germany and China in the agricultural and food sector. In April 2018, the project entered its 2nd phase. Together with IAK Agrar Consulting GmbH, IAMO is in charge of the implementing of DCZ.
