How common is the European Union’s Common Agricultural Policy? /// The EU member states have had a Common Agricultural Policy for 60 years now. However, the different states are increasingly choosing to go their own ways when it comes to implementing the most recent reforms. The reasons for this will be explained by speaker Jana Demoustier.

How can a computer game teach us new things about the agricultural sector? /// Scientist Franziska Appel is using the agricultural strategy game “FarmAgriPoliS” to look at how structural change in agriculture is influenced by the individual actions of different agricultural players.

Who harvests the nicest potatoes? /// Just as diverse as the potato varieties themselves are the products that ensue. Expert Ulrich Gündel will talk about the historical potato varieties on his farm and how they are cultivated and processed.

Expensive hops – is the price of beer to rise? /// The hops market is characterized by great price fluctuations. Since 2011 the price for the “green gold” has increased six-fold. Scientist Aaron Grau will present the reasons and the consequences for beer production.
