Marlen Tynaliev joined IAMO in October 2023 in the department External Environment for Agriculture and Policy Analysis as doctoral researcher under the UCA-DAAD Doctoral Scholarship Programme. His doctoral research is centered around the study of behavioral factors influencing the adoption of sustainable agricultural practices among smallholders in the Kyrgyz Republic.
Prior to this academic endeavor, he worked in various capacities such as specialist, expert, and project manager at the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO UN) Representation in the Kyrgyz Republic, focussing on food security and nutrition. In 2015-2016 he also successfully completed the Hubert Humphrey Fellowship Program at Cornell University, USA, which was dedicated to agriculture and rural development.
