Assoc. Prof. Dr. Mariya Peneva joined IAMO as a Visiting Research Fellow in February 2022 in the department Structural Change. She graduated at University of National and World Economy (UNWE), Bulgaria B.Sc. in Agricultural Economics, M.Sc. in Finance and she successfully completed study in a PhD program in Application of quantitative methods (with focus on optimization) in agribusiness. Currently, she is an associate professor in the field of Agricultural Economics, Policy and Sustainable Rural Development in the Department of Natural Resources Economics at UNWE. She has thorough experience in working in international teams within the educational and research projects (under EU FP 6&7, Horizon 2020, ERASMUS+) as well as in consultancy for Rural Development. She has also profound understanding of management and coordination being a deputy director in the Center for Research Educational Projects of UNWE, scientific secretary of her Department, projects’ team leader and institutional coordinator of CEEPUS program.
