Daniela Peña Guerrero joined the department of Structural Change at IAMO in January 2019 as a Doctoral researcher. She received two master's degrees, a degree in Natural Resources Management and Development from the Cologne University of Applied Sciences, Germany, and a degree in Environmental Sciences from the Universidad Autónoma de San Luis Potosí, Mexico. During her work as a master student, she assessed the impacts of droughts in semiarid Central Chile on water quality, and potential implications for agricultural production within the framework of the EDUNEXUS project “Education and Research related to the Water-Energy-Food-Security Nexus at River Basin Scale”. She is part of the SUSADICA “Sustainable Agricultural Development in Central Asia” project and a member of the IAMO Land Systems Group. Her doctoral dissertation is on the impacts of climate change on irrigated agriculture and water availability in Central Asia.
