Franziska Ollendorf joined IAMO in April 2019 as a research associate in the department Structural Change. She is a doctoral candidate at the universities of Giessen and Toulouse. Her dissertation project investigates transformative effects of private sustainability certification schemes in the global cocoa chocolate chain with a particular focus on rural Ghana. Franziska studied Social Science and Agricultural Economics at the University of Giessen where she also worked at the Chair of Political Theory and History of Ideas (Prof. Dr. Regina Kreide) and the Center for international Development and Environmental Research (ZEU). Franziska gained broad experience with (participatory) research on policy effects on rural livelihood systems in Sub-Saharan Africa.
