Personal details

Dr. Lijuan Miao jointed the Department of Structural Change, IAMO, as an Alexander von Humboldt Climate Protection Fellow in 2017. She received a PhD degree in Physical Geography from Beijing Normal University, China, in 2016. Her PhD thesis is titled "Impact of climate change on vegetation dynamics and animal husbandry over the Mongolian Plateau". Besides the training in natural sciences, she has also broad interests in social aspects of climate change, such as anthropology. For that, she was a guest researcher in University of Cambridge, UK. During her IAMO stay, she will mainly work with the Land System Change Group, in particular, Dr. Zhanli Sun, on the topic "Wake up "boiling frogs": A research on animal husbandry under climate change in Northern China".
