Since 2014 Dr. Vasyl Kvartiuk works as Research Associate in the Department Agricultural Policy. He joined IAMO in October 2010 as a PhD candidate within the Project "Third Sector Organizations in Rural Development: Theoretical and Empirical Analysis”, funded by the Volkswagen Foundation. In 2014 he obtained his PhD in Economics from the Faculty of Law and Economics of Martin Luther University Halle-Wittenberg, Germany, after defending his work titled "Participatory Governance in Rural Development". Before joining IAMO he obtained his MA Degree in Economics and Politics from Freiburg University, Germany. Dr. Vasyl Kvartiuk’s research interests range from local governance to economic development, including growth in transition countries.
