Yaroslav Kapustianskyi joined IAMO as PhD student in the department of Agricultural Markets in June 2023. He already made first experiences at IAMO in February 2019 as part of the GIZ "Internship Programme of German Business for Ukraine". After the successful internship, he was awarded personal funding from DAAD for the project "Competition in electronic procurement of food in Ukraine and its impact on the sustainable development of the market economy".

Kapustianskyi graduated from the Department of International Relations at Khmelnytskyi National University, Ukraine. In December 2019, he completed his Master's thesis on the Integration Prospects of Ukraine in the Baltic-Black Sea Region. During his early professional career, he undertook analytical internships in various local NGOs. He then worked as a Monitoring and Evaluation Officer in the Ukrainian delegation of Terre des Hommes, an international child protection NGO, for approximately 3.5 years.

Currently, Kapustianskyi is actively involved in research on the sustainable development of the Ukrainian economy, particularly focusing on the public procurement in the food sector.
