Antje Jantsch is an agricultural economist and researcher at IAMO and an associate researcher at The World Database of Happiness based in the Erasmus Happiness Economics Research Organization EHERO of Erasmus University Rotterdam in the Netherlands.

She leads a Leibniz junior research group investigating the multidimensional drivers and impacts of rural (im)mobility through the development of a multidimensional well-being index. Her research focuses on empirical microeconomics, quality of life in rural areas, household finances in relation to subjective well-being, and social comparison processes. The geographic focus of her research is mainly Southeastern Europe and East Germany, but also Thailand and Latin America.

Before joining IAMO, she was a research associate at the Martin Luther University Halle-Wittenberg and an analyst for policy issues relating to cash payment operations at the Deutsche Bundesbank.
