Jarilkasin Ilyasov is a PhD student in the Department Agricultural Markets at IAMO. His research work involves wheat market integration and price transmission in Central Asia within the research project MATRACC: The Global Food Crisis – Impact on Wheat Markets and Trade in the Caucasus and in Central Asia as well as the Role of Kazakhstan, Russia and Ukraine. Currently he joined the Washington based International Food Policy Research Institute (IFPRI) as a Research Analyst. Prior to joining IAMO, he has worked at the municipal branch of the Ministry of Agriculture and Water Resources of Uzbekistan as well as for international research and donor organizations such as the Asian Development Bank (ADB), the Bioversity International and the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) in Tashkent, Uzbekistan. Jarilkasin has obtained his BSc. In Agriculture at Aberdeen University, UK, and his joint MSc. International Master in Rural Development (IMRD) at the Ghent University, Belgium, the Humboldt University in Berlin, Germany, and the Wageningen University, Netherlands.
