Dr. Marten Graubner studied Agricultural Economics at the Martin Luther University Halle-Wittenberg (MLU), Germany. Since 2004 he has been a member of the Department Structural Change. He received his PhD from MLU in 2010 and his thesis entitled "The Spatial Dimension of Pricing and Competition in Agricultural Markets" was awarded with the GEWISOLA and GIL prize for young researchers. Dr. Marten Graubner investigates price formation and competition processes on agricultural markets with an emphasis on (local) market power. In addition to theoretical models, he also utilizes computational economics, especially agent-based modelling. In the framework of a DFG project, he will apply and develop theories and approaches regarding the land rental market.
