Personal details

Brian Beadle joined the Department Structural Change in March of 2018 as a PhD student to work in the research group “Economics and Institutions of the Bioeconomy“. He completed his M.Sc. in the program Socio-Ecological Economics and Policy from Vienna University of Economics and Business (Austria), specializing in Environmental Change and Policy, as well as Globalisation and Multi-Level Policy. His thesis was written on the development of a composite indicator for measuring sustainable development, using the United States as an example. Prior to his graduate studies, he completed his B.Sc. in Economics and Business Administration in his home state of Wisconsin, where he completed an independent study project measuring the demand elasticity of residential solar energy  with respect to electricity and gasoline prices in Hawaii. Outside of his work at IAMO, he is currently analyzing the effect that natural disasters have on income inequality.
