Janine Pinkow-Läpple joined the Department Agricultural Policy as a PhD student in October 2018. Prior to that, she studied Politics and Public Administration at the University of Konstanz and Peace Research and International Politics at the Eberhard Karls Universität Tübingen. In her master thesis she dealt with the topic of return migration and social change in Kosovo. During her studies she completed internships with the German Corporation for International Cooperation (GIZ) in North Macedonia as well as at the Federal Ministry of Economic Cooperation and Development and worked at the University of Tübingen as a scientific assistant. At IAMO, she is involved in the TRaFFF project. Her major research interest lies in migration research with a special focus on social remittances and the migration-induced transformation of gender norms. The regional focus of her research is South-East Europe.
