David Ayrapetyan joined IAMO in January 2017 as a PhD student in the Department of Structural Change. After receiving his bachelor’s degree in Economics at the Russian-Armenian (Slavonic) University in Yerevan, Armenia, he studied Innovation and Change (MSc) at the Friedrich Schiller University of Jena in Germany. His Master’s thesis focused on inventive activity in the wind energy sector using methods such as social network and patent analysis. His research at IAMO is primarily devoted to the analysis of interactions at different scales involved in biocluster functioning and development. He works under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Alfons Balmann and Dr. Frans Hermans.
