The IAMO library is a specialized scientific reference library that provides comprehensive information to IAMO staff members and the interested public. The library's collection is based on the research interests of the institute's scholars, which are in the economic and social sciences, with a strong focus on the agricultural and food sector.
The printed collection currently includes about 29,000 monographs and 176 journals in more than 30 languages, including many original titles from Central and Eastern Europe. The library also provides access to a variety of electronic resources such as eBooks, eJournals, CDs / DVDs and database access.
The library has 10 workstations, including 5 PC workstations, for research, printing and copying. Visitors can use the services and inventory during the opening hours. Employees have an all time access to the rooms of the library and to electronic resources as well as further offers via the intranet: IAMOLib.
The IAMO library is a member of the Common Library Network (GBV), the Working Party Libraries and Information Facilities of the Leibniz Association, as well as the German Library Association (DBV). It maintains close working relations with Halle University and Regional Library Halle (ULB), the libraries of Halle Institute for Economic Research Halle (IWH) and Leibniz Institute for Plant Biochemistry Halle (IPB).
