Library and Information Center

The special library features a reference collection that reflects the institute’s research focus, with the bulk of the material dedicated to the agri-food sector. Books and journals are available in more than 30 languages and include original titles from Central and Eastern Europe. Databases, e-books and e-journals can all be accessed electronically.

The information and services are not just available to IAMO staff. Interested visitors can use the printed and electronic resources on site during opening hours. Further information on the latest services, counselling, events and online tutorials for staff can be found on the intranet.

Redesign of the facilities

Following extensive renovations, the library and information center was reopened in June 2021. The library was redesigned and fitted with the latest digital technology to ensure the best possible access to information. The overarching goal of the renovations was to create a space where institute staff could hold meetings, conduct courses and work together on joint projects. New workstations and modern IT equipment were added to create a user-friendly work environment. See here:

Open Access

IAMO is committed to providing free access to scientific literature and other materials on the Internet (Open Access). The Institute thereby follows the "Berlin Declaration on Open Access to Knowledge in the Sciences and Humanities" and the "Guideline on Open Access in the Leibniz Association". Researchers at IAMO are encouraged to publish their research results in accordance with the Open Access principle. At IAMO, this is realised as uncomplicated as possible by publishing results directly as Open Access publications and, within legal limitations, simultaneously, or at the earliest opportunity, making them available on document servers (repositories). Furthermore, the institute has also adopted its own Open Access Policy.
