Your data will be stored for a maximum of six months after the end of the selection procedure and then deleted. According to the GDPR of the EU, you have the right to obtain information about your personal data from the addressee of the application, to have the data processed corrected, deleted or restricted, and to object to the processing.

- You have granted your express consent to this
- A legal obligation to do so exists

The merging of data with other data sources is not undertaken. We reserve the right to subsequently check the personal data processed by us in the case of suspected illegal or other misuse and to forward this for the defence or enforcement of legal claims.
Cookies
The internet sites use so-called cookies in some cases. Cookies do not harm your computer and do not contain viruses or other malware. Cookies make our offer more user friendly, effective and secure. Cookies are small text files that are deposited and saved on your computer.
The majority of the cookies that we use are so-called "session cookies". These are deleted automatically at the end of your visit. Other cookies remain saved on your terminal device until you delete them. These cookies enable us to recognise your browser when you visit again.
You can set your browser to inform you of the placing of cookies and only enable cookies in individual cases, accept cookies in specific cases or generally refuse them, as well as to activate the automatic deletion of cookies when closing the browser. Deactivating cookies may result in limitation of the functionality of this website.
The use of cookies and the associated processing of your personal data is necessary for us to serve the aforementioned purposes and legitimate interests as well as third parties (art. 6 para. 1 lit. f GDPR).
Content of third-party providers
To improve our services we use the offers of third parties. This includes, for example, videos from the YouTube platform and map material from the provider Google Maps. To ensure the functionality of these offers it is necessary to forward your IP address to these third parties. Unfortunately, we have no influence over whether your data is used for further purposes, such as statistical evaluation. To prevent the forwarding of your IP address you can deactivate JavaScript in your browser. However, this may result in the limitation of other functionalities of our internet sites.
Google Maps
This website uses map material from Google Maps. The operator (Google Inc.) is located in the USA. With the use of this website you agree to automated forwarding to Google Inc., its data protection policy and the terms of use of Google Maps.
YouTube
This website includes video material from YouTube. The operator (Google Inc.) is located in the USA. With the use of this website you agree to automated forwarding to Google Inc., its data protection policy and the terms of use of YouTube.
OpenStreetMap
For the visualisation of map data we use the open source service "OpenStreetMap" (OSM). OSM does not save any personal data.
Anchor
We integrate the podcast episodes of IAMO Alumni Talk into our website via the podcast hosting platform Anchor (Spotify AB, Regeringsgatan 19, 111 53 Stockholm, Sweden). This is done using a so-called iframe.
The integration also results in data transfers to and data processing by Anchor. The following data is transmitted from you to Anchor's servers and processed by them:
- URL information
- Web identifiers such as cookie data and IP address
- Information about your device such as
- Device identifiers such as MAC address
- Connection type (e.g. wifi, 4G, LTE, Bluetooth)
- Provider
- Network and device performance
- Browser type
- Language
- Operating system
If you have an account with Anchor, additional information may be processed by Anchor when you visit our website. This information can also be assigned to your profile and enable cross-device tracking. Anchor also uses cookies, which enable the service and also trigger the data processing mentioned above. These have a storage period of up to 3 months. Further information on data processing by Anchor can be found here: anchor.fm/privacy. We have no influence on this processing in the responsibility of Anchor.
The legal basis for the processing for which IAMO is responsible is your voluntary consent pursuant to Art. 6 (1) a GDPR. You have the right to revoke this consent at any time with effect for the future, e.g. in the context of our cookie consent management.
Anchor is part of the Spotify group of companies and, when delivering the Services, transmits your data to other Spotify companies located around the globe. This includes countries outside the EU and with lower data protection levels than you are used to in Germany. In such countries, for example, you lack legal remedies against unlawful data processing as you have in the EU. Where possible, Anchor has used technical and legal means to adequately protect your data in these so-called third countries, for example by concluding so-called standard data protection clauses. Your consent therefore also applies to such third country transfers.
Analysis services
We use analysis services to continuously optimise and statistically evaluate our online offer. The processing of your personal data occurs solely for the achievement of objectives on the basis of our legitimate interests (art. 6 para. 1 lit. f GDPR).
Google Analytics
This site uses Google Analytics, a web analysis service of Google Inc. Google Analytics uses so-called "cookies", text files that are saved on the computer of the user and that enable the analysis of your use of the website, with pseudonymised user profiles created. The information about your use of the website generated by the cookie is typically sent to a Google server in the USA and processed there. The scope corresponds to that of the server log files (see above).
However, we have activated IP anonymisation on this website. This means that your IP address is abbreviated before being forwarded to Google. Only in exceptional cases will the full IP address be transferred to a Google server in the USA and abbreviated there. Google will then use this information on behalf of the operator of this website to analyse your use of the website in order to compile reports about website activities and provide further services associated with use of the website and internet use to the website operator.
The IP address communicated from your browser in the scope of Google Analytics is not combined with other data by Google. You may prevent the processing of the cookies with a corresponding setting of your browser software or by downloading and installing a browser plugin to deactivate Google Analytics. This may result in you being unable to use all functions of this website to their full extent.
Further information on data use for advertising purposes by Google, setting and objection options can be found on the website of Google.
Further information on data protection in relation to Google Analytics can be found, for example, at Google Analytics Support.
Google can be contacted at Google Inc., 1600 Amphitheatre Parkway, Mountain View, CA 94043, USA.
Google reCAPTCHA v3
In order to ensure data security during the transmission of forms, we use in some cases the service reCAPTCHA of the company Google Inc. This is mainly to distinguish whether the input is made by a natural person or abusive by machine and automated processing (bots). The service includes the sending of the IP address and possibly other data required by Google for the service reCAPTCHA to Google. Differing privacy policies of Google Inc. apply to this. Further information on Google's privacy policy can be found at www.google.com/intl/de/privacy.
Note: If access to Google is blocked in your browser, e.g. by Addblocker or similar addons, then submitting the form protected with reCAPTCHA v3 is not possible. The same applies if JavaScript is deactivated. In this case you can send us your registration for the newsletter or press distribution list by e-mail.
Social media plugins
We use so-called "social media plugins" These serve the purpose of sharing the content of our website. For this we use the data protection-friendly solution "Shariff", developed by c't, which only establishes a link to the respective network when you click the corresponding button. Further information can be found here. As soon as you share an article, you consent to the processing of your personal data by the respective operator.
Your rights
You have the right at all times to information, amendment (where required) or deletion (where the basis for processing no longer exists) or to the limitation of processing (in the event of impossibility of deletion) of your personal data processed by us. Moreover, you have the right to transferability of the personal data that you have provided to us and to complain to a supervisory body.
To the extent that the processing is undertaken on the basis of your consent, you have the right to revoke your consent with future effect at any time. If your personal data is processed on the basis of legitimate interests, you have the right to submit an objection to the processing of your personal data (.e.g. in the case of direct mail). If you wish to make use of your right to revocation or objection, an e-mail to iamo(at)iamo.de is sufficient.
Data security
We ensure data security via security standards that correspond to the state of the art. To protect your data, your connection to sites with the option of data entry is securely encrypted. You can recognise this, for example, with the display of a small lock or the addition of "https://" to the address line of your browser. To increase your security you can configure your browser in a more data protection-friendly manner, for example with add-ons. Use of the "private mode" also contributes to the security of your data.
Objection to advertising e-mails
The use by third parties of contact details published in the scope of the legal notice obligation to send advertising and information material that is not expressly requested is hereby expressly objected to. The operators of the sites reserve the express right to take legal steps in the event of the unsolicited sending of advertising information, such as via spam mail.
Updating of this data protection information
We adapt our data protection declaration to altered functionalities of the website or altered statutory requirements. We therefore recommend that you read this declaration at regular intervals.
