Workshop „Food 4.0 and Globalization: Chances and Challenges for Western Balkan“
26 April 2018 - A workshop entitled “Food 4.0 and globalization: Chances and Challenges for Western Balkans - Consumers' role in changing global food supply chains” will take place in Belgrade, Serbia, from 26 to 27 April 2018. The event is being organized by IAMO in cooperation with the Faculty of Agriculture of the University of Belgrade and the Leibniz ScienceCampus “Eastern Europe - Global Area” (EEGA).
The main aim of the workshop is to bring together researchers and stakeholders from the economic field to discuss promotion strategies for different agro-food product groups by focusing on innovative digital solutions, state-of-the art marketing tools, and social networks. These promotion strategies will be presented to post-doctoral researchers (“Dozenten”-level) from the six Western Balkan countries that will receive knowledge transfer from the European experts and relevant agro-food stakeholders from the region. The knowledge gained in this workshop will further improve personal skills of the participants, and thus enable them to understand complex holistic approaches that lead to the improved competitiveness of the agro-food supply chains within a multi-stakeholder surrounding. Furthermore, the newly established relationships between researchers and experts from the Western Balkan and Germany as well as from academia and the business field can be prospectively capitalized for upcoming joint proposals, especially in the frame of the European programme Horizon 2020. The organizers expect 30 participants from six Western Balkan countries at the workshop.
