In transformation economies the structures within the agricultural sector are very heterogeneous. Against the background of transformation processes large scale farms as well as small scale farms do have serious problems in developing and can not be looked upon without taking into account the general socio-economic conditions and the run short of natural productivity basics. Projects within this research area deal with the dynamics of operational and structural adaptation processes as well as a competitive and resource saving developments of the agricultural sector. This includes:
  • Questions of the overcome of structural deficiencies with special focus on the mobilisation of productivity and efficiency resources
  • Impact of general socio-economic conditions and changes on the development of agricultural companies
  • Interdependencies between company decisions and the dynamics of natural resources
