One in three people worldwide face threats to their livelihoods due to climate change. As a result of droughts and extreme weather events, many people are leaving their homes. In her talk, Kathleen Hermanns explains why the frequently used term climate refugee is nevertheless misleading.

There is a lively debate going on in the EU about reforming genetic engineering law. Robert Hoffie from IPK Gatersleben will explain which methods are involved, what they can achieve and what science-based regulation could look like.

Prof. Dr. Alfons Balmann
Agriculture is often criticized because of many environmental and animal welfare problems. At the same time, the world's population is growing and wants to be safely supplied. So what will agriculture look like in the future? Will robots soon be tilling the fields?

Between the lectures, IAMO Director Thomas Herzfeld and his "Trio Buntmetall" will play trombones and tuba. You can expect a rousing mix of swing, pop, rock and heavy metal!
